Very little has changed with assessments for the current year. Kim School continues to be dedicated to making this process as time-efficient and painless as possible.  In an effort to help students, parents, and community members become better informed, we have included the links below to information published by CDE.  Our hope is to produce informed stakeholders while preparing our students to perform to the best of their capabilities.  The majority of test scores last year were positive and indicate students are performing at a high level, while the growth rates continue to impress.

NWEA:  All students will take these computer tests at the beginning and end of the year.  Content assessed includes; Math, Science, English, and Language Arts.  With Kindergarten and first grades testing in math and reading. Second grade tests in math, reading and language and third through 11th grades test in math, reading, language and science.

PARCC/CMAS:  The state-level assessment that occurs in April.  These tests cover English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies (on a three year rotating basis).  The majority of Kim's Educator Effectiveness--how well we are doing in the principle job of educating our children--is predicated upon these results.  All 3rd-8th Graders take these exams over a two week period. Science will administered to all 5th, 8th, and 11th Graders, Social Studies alternates with our 4th and 7th Graders.

PSAT: The Pre-SAT exam is designed for both 9th and 10th Graders, starting 2018. It is also given in the spring. Date to be determined.  The results of this exam are used to prepare students for taking the SAT Exam.

SAT:  The Scholastic Aptitude (or Assessment) Test is designed for 11th Graders in the spring. Date to be determined.  It is primarily a test used to determine college readiness of our students.

ASVAB: For 10th-12th graders at the school on Tuesday, October 16th from 8:30 to about 12:30.

Many other assessments may present themselves over the course of the school year.  Kim works to limit the number and frequency of these events in order to provide a maximum focus on education exposure.
