Kim School District R-88 is following the Governor's Executive Order and closing through April 17th, 2020. School will resume on April 20, 2020 if allowed.
The school will open on Monday, March 23rd, from 8 a.m. to noon for students to come in and pick up all of their items including books from lockers , their gym lockers and desks so they can have their items for home-based learning. If you are unable to come to get your student's things please call the school at 643-5295 and their things will be gathered and bagged and delivered to you.
Please check the website often for updates.
We now know that we will have to show good faith in continuing educational opportunities and file a waiver with the Colorado Department of Education. The staff will be meeting on Monday, March 23rd to create a plan and work with families to figure this out.

Here is a quote from another superintendent that seems appropriate, "In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little." - Dr. Daniel Hile of Smith-Green Community Schools.

We will revisit and update as soon as a plan is created.

Sincerely,
Kim R-88 School Board
and Superintendent, Samantha Yocam

Please follow the guidelines for travel and Spring Break that are in the Wellness and Nutrition section of our website and in the letter sent to parents regarding Coronavirus.
